Abstract	The following study determines the risk prediction of bankruptcy of ZT “Kruszwica” industrial enterprise, using certain discriminatory models in terms of maintaining financial liquidity. The research, covering the period from 2008 to 2010, was based on a unit, quarterly financial statements. It was observed that liquidity ratings reached a satisfactory level. However, two of the accepted models showed a difficult financial situation of ZT “Kruszwica” S.A. For instance, E.I. Altman’s model indicated threat of bankruptcy in 2008. Contrary to A. Mączynska’s model, which informed about a bad financial condition in the second quarter of 2010. The other models proved that the company was developing dynamically at that time. To conclude, the prediction models of bankruptcy can have ambiguous results. However, discriminatory models can be treated as part of the financial situation of a company and fundamental analysis.

The effects of the global economic crisis from resulted in the decreasing levels of financial liquidity in companies of the branches analyzed.

Abstract	The aim of this study is to determine the scale and structure of the investment activity of Middle Pomerania agricultural enterprises. The analysis was based on the value of investment and gross fixed assets in enterprises employing more than 9 people. The study covered data published by the CSO (GUS). The analyzed companies represent the agricultural sector in the region of Middle Pomerania (the area of Zachodniopomorskie and Pomorskie Voivodships). The period of study covers the years 2002–2010. The study shows that the value of investments in Poland from 2002 to 2008, has grown steadily. From the moment of crisis in global markets investment dynamics decreased. In agricultural enterprises, contrary to others, there was an increase in investment outlays in 2010, compared to the previous period. The agricultural sector was characterized by the lowest share of investments. The participation of agricultural enterprises in the region of Middle Pomerania in investment spending of the surveyed companies was higher than the share of agricultural enterprises in Poland, reflecting the agricultural character of this area.

Stwierdzono, że na brak rentowności negatywnie oddziałuje poziom zatrudnienia zaangażowanego w produkcję rolniczą. W opracowaniu wyodrębniono główne elementy strategii poprawy kondycji finansowej przedsiębiorstw rolnych.

The company has also been analyzed in the direction of ROS and ROA. The final element of financial analysis study was to identify sources of business financing.

Główną uwagę poświęcono problemowi nieefektywnego wykorzystania środków scentralizowanego wsparcia finansowego. Zaproponowano ograniczenie kanałów wsparcia państwowego i popieranie najbardziej efektywnych form i rodzajów produkcji.
Abstract	Problems of the state support for the agricultural enterprises by methods of budgetary financing, preferential taxation, tariff and customs regulations and price controls are considered. The basic attention is given to the problem of inefficient use of means in the centralized support fund. The author suggests to reduce expenses of the state support and to those supporting the most effective forms and branches of production.

Abstract	The phrase ‘rural areas’ mean not only the place for agricultural production and the living place of rural population, but also refer to all the traditions, landscape, environment and residents of these areas. Rural development is highly supported at the EU level and it helps to enhance the quality of life of rural residents and the economic performance of rural areas. According to some points of view, the excessive support should be cut down, but the primary objectives of the CAP should be maintained. The threats of the economic crisis appear more significantly in rural areas. What are the possible ways to increase the economic situation of these areas, where poverty is high, education level is low and the population is aging? Working facilities are mostly connected with agriculture, but the financial background and competitiveness of agricultural enterprises is rather low. The environment and landscape should be preserved. How can all these problems be solved at the same time? How can the environment be preserved in line with the development of the rural areas? The renewed CAP was outlined in November 2010. This paper tries to examine the visions of rural areas for the future

Abstract	One of the main issue with regions research is to state theirs development factors and using then In further analysis. Synthetic measures gives first ball park figure rating of regions development while particular measures let us rate the problem deeper. Gaining common benchmark for each unit of territorial setup, based on accepted system of economical gauges, let us treat all models equal. On the state of economic activities and the level of enterprises testify the number of company national economies of registered in REGON. Rates let the location determine the level of the regional specialization and the dominating function of provinces and the region.

Abstrakt	Długość cyklu konwersji gotówki jest istotnym wskaźnikiem oceny efektywności gospodarowania aktywami i pasywami bieżącymi, jak również ogólnej efektywności jednostki. Im krótszy jest ten cykl, tym więcej obrotów kapitałem obrotowym może dokonać przedsiębiorstwo. Zakładając, że każdy taki obrót pozwala na zrealizowanie przedsiębiorstwu określonej kwoty zysku, zwiększenie częstotliwości obrotów umożliwia wypracowanie większego zysku globalnego. Długość cyklu konwersji gotówki wpływa również w istotny sposób na płynność finansową przedsiębiorstw. Wzrost długości cyklu konwersji gotówki stymuluje wzrost wskaźnika bieżącej płynności finansowej, jednakże tylko do pewnego momentu. Nadpłynności finansowej badanych przedsiębiorstw branży mięsnej towarzyszy malejąca tendencja w zakresie długości cyklu konwersji gotówki.
Abstract	Length of cash conversion cycle is an important indicator for assessing the effectiveness of current management of assets and liabilities, as well as overall business performance. The shorter the cycle, the more turnover of working capital may make a company. Assuming that each such marketing allows a company to carry out a certain amount of profit, increasing the frequency of rotation can develop a greater global profit. Length of cash conversion cycle also affects significantly the liquidity of companies. The increase in cash conversion cycle length stimulates the growth of the current liquidity ratio, but only to a point. Financial liquidity of companies surveyed in the meat industry is accompanied by a decreasing trend in the cash conversion cycle length.

Abstrakt	Przedstawiono czynniki utrudniające działalność innowacyjną w przedsiębiorstwach branży spożywczej. Przy wykorzystaniu metod statystycznych zbadano, czy istnieje zależność między wielkością przedsiębiorstwa a stopniem wpływu czynników utrudniających działalność innowacyjną oraz wskazano najistotniejsze bariery w grupach przedsiębiorstw według wielkości. Do badania wykorzystano zarówno dane powszechnie dostępne z GUS, jak i niepublikowane dane pochodzące z trzech okresów badawczych: 2002-2004, 2004-2006 i 2008-2010. Badania wykazały m.in., że działalność innowacyjna przedsiębiorstw spożywczych jest hamowana głównie przez czynniki ekonomiczne, a znaczenie tych czynników maleje wraz ze wzrostem rozmiaru przedsiębiorstwa.
Abstract	The aim of this article is to present the results of research concerning Polish enterprises in the food sector with particular focus on innovativeness. Attention is paid particularly to factors hampering innovation in the food product and beverages sector as well as indicated key barriers in the groups of enterprises according to their size. In the research data widely available from CSO as well as unpublished data from the three periods of research: 2002-2004, 2004-2006 and 2008-2010 were used. The research has shown that performance of innovative enterprises is limited mainly due to economic factors and the importance of these factors decreases with the increase of the size of the company.

Abstrakt	W pracy podjęto problem określenia zależności między efektywnością przedsiębiorstw handlu zbożem a ich lokalizacją względem rynków zaopatrzenia. W badaniu jako główną metodę parametryczną zastosowano stochastyczną metodę SFA (bazującą na funkcji translogarytmicznej), jako weryfikacyjną metodę nieparametryczną - deterministyczną metodę DEA. Przyjęcie zintegrowanego podejścia - łączącego zalety obu metod przy ograniczeniu ich słabych stron - umożliwiło zachowanie analogii podczas porównywania wyników i formułowanie wiarygodnych wniosków. W celu weryfikacji zależności między efektywnością a lokalizacją przedsiębiorstw uzyskane wskaźniki efektywności technicznej, zarówno w podejściu stochastycznym (modele S1-S5), jak i deterministycznym (modele D1-D5), odniesiono do lokalizacji względem rynków zaopatrzenia. Na podstawie otrzymanych wyników stwierdzono występowanie zależności między dwiema analizowanymi zmiennymi.
Abstract	Within the framework of the paper the problem of assessment of relationship between the efficiency of grain trade enterprises and their localization related to supply markets was analyzed. In the research, as a main method, the parametric stochastic SFA method (based on the translogarytmic function), and, as a verification method, the nonparametric deterministic DEA method were applied. The use of the integrated approach that combines the advantages of both methods while limiting their weaknesses allowed comparing the results and formulating reliable conclusions. In order to verify an existence of the relationship between the efficiency and localization of enterprises the obtained indicators of technical efficiency for both the stochastic (models S1-S5) and deterministic (models D1-D5) approaches were related with the localization relative to the supply markets. On the basis of the results the dependency of the two analyzed variables was found.

Dokonano opisu problemów rozwoju procesów inwestycyjnych oraz oceny atrakcyjności inwestycyjnej ukraińskiego rolnictwa. Badania przeprowadzono dla całego kraju oraz dla jego poszczególnych regionów. Ustalono istotne zróżnicowanie między atrakcyjnością inwestycyjną dużych przedsiębiorstw i stosunkowo niewielkich podmiotów gospodarczych.
Abstract	In this paper a general description of the investment conditions of Ukraine, according to world ratings, is presented. An analysis of problems concerning the development of investment processes has been carried out as well as an assessment of the investment appeal of Ukrainian agriculture. Research was conducted for the whole country and its regions. A distinction has been established between the investment attractiveness of large enterprises and smaller businesses.

Abstract	Public relations and advertising are important tools of marketing activities in meeting the business objectives, contributing the building of reputation and image of the enterprise and the customer´s awareness about the products. PR and advertising help to activate the customer´s interest in buying the product. Implementation of advertising and PR is a cost item for the enterprise. The amount of funds entered into advertising and PR is based on a comparison between actual and desired effect. Monitoring the efficiency of advertising and PR should be oriented primarily on measuring of microeconomic effects. Through this communicative effects in conjunction with other tools of marketing mix can be measured impact on sales (though not exactly) because the ultimate goal is obviously the economic impact of business activities.

Abstract	Slovak agriculture is constantly dynamically changing. Accession process to the EU of this sector is important for Slovak agriculture harmonization of agricultural policy related to the Common Agricultural Policy. Integration into the European Union and as well as using the funds of the Common Agricultural Policy significantly affect financial ratios and others indicators as liquidity, solvency and cash flow, which was evaluated the financial statements of assessed financial management. Financial situation of entity is a mirror through which the enterprise is perceived by its surroundings. The situation of liquidity is a determinant, which influences the opinion of external subjects about entity and its financial health. The paper compared the period before and after accession to the European Union (EU), it means the period from 2000 to 2009 with the aim to find the answer if the financial liquidity of Slovak enterprises in agriculture have had a positive or negative development trend.
