Abstract	The aim of this article is to analyse level of human capital and its use in Mazowieckie province in 2006 or 2007 (depending on data availability) and to compare the level of human capital and its use between Mazowieckie and other provinces. To this end, the so called Human Resources Index has been calculated, based on education, employment, enterprise and professional activity indexes. The level of human resources in Mazowieckie province has been measured mainly using the level of education of the population. The levels of lifelong learning of people aged 25–64 and presence of computers and Internet access in households are also presented. The Mazowieckie province is characterised by the highest level of the human resources in Poland, which results mainly from the province localisation, roles played by Warsaw, and the fact that numerous universities and research institutes are situated in the Capital

Abstract	Analysis of financial and production results in large scale pig farms during 1995–2002 period is an aim of this research. It was ascertained that number of large scale pig farms decreased, and most of them operate as rented enterprises. Decrease of acreage and labour resources were also observed within analyzed group. Yields in field production especially cereals yields were very similar across law forms of companies. In all types of farms independently on their organizational and law type decrease of pork production was observed. Huge differences were also visible in labour efficiency. The lowest efficiency was evaluated in APA (Agricultural Property Agency) depended companies, and the highest in fully private and in rented farms

Abstrakt	Przedstawiono analizę kosztów i efektywności pracy w przedsiębiorstwach rolniczych o różnych formach prawnych zagospodarowania ziemi. Określono zależno- .ci w zakresie: zasobów siły roboczej, ekonomicznej i społecznej wydajności pracy, udziału kosztów pracowniczych w kosztach operacyjnych oraz ich relacji do przychodów ze sprzedaży, współczynnika wynagrodzeń, zwrotu z inwestycji w kapitał ludzki oraz ekonomicznej wartości dodanej tego kapitału.
Abstract	The paper aims analyse the costs and labour productivity in agricultural enterprises of different legal forms of land management. The lowest level of employment occurred in the leaseholders. enterprises, whereas the highest . in the owned by companies Agricultural Property Agency (APA), what resulted in the lowest labour productivity. The highest level of labour productivity was noted in the owners. enterprises. In the APA companies, the highest wages ratio was found, what illustrated the highest share of labour costs in operational costs. Differences in labour costs between the owners. enterprises and the leaseholders. enterprises were rather minimal, what suggests implementation of similar employment and wages policies. In addition, in the owners. enterprises the highest return on investment in human capital was found, whereas the lowest . in the APA companies. Moreover, it concerned also a level of value-added of human capital, where the owners. and leaseholders. enterprises dominated. Finally, enterprises buying or leasing land were characterised by more effective use of labour force, in comparison to the APA companies.

Abstrakt	Przedstawiono analizę rentowności majątku i zyskowności ziemi, dźwigni finansowej, ekonomicznej wydajności pracy, płynności finansowej oraz relacji między aktywami obrotowymi i trwałymi w zależności od udziału kapitału własnego w źródłach finansowania przedsiębiorstw rolniczych.
Abstract	The paper presents an analysis of correlation between equity share in agricultural enterprises. financing and their economic situation. Enterprises of the highest equity’s share were usually characterised by the highest land and assets. profitability as well as economic labour effectiveness. One of reasons of such a correlation was appropriate relations kept between rotary and fixed assets. However, the greatest share of equity in financial resources did not always allow to gain the highest capital and land effectiveness, which could be connected with not taking profits from the leverage effect. The assets profitability and the leverage were low in the enterprises, although their growing tendency ought to be evaluated as a positive one. Enterprises of negative equity vale were threatened by loss of quick financial liquidity and they were usually characterised by ineffective use of production resources.

Zauważono, że większość przedsiębiorstw cechował zysk inflacyjny, co powodowało .przejadanie. posiadanego majątku.
Abstract	This article tries to analyze the way how managers of enterprises listed in ranking 300. in the years 1994-2003 dealt with achieved financial results. Factor of money value change over time has been included in this analysis. It has been found that part of entrepreneurs spend realized profits for bonuses and prizes. For majority of enterprises profits realized were however lower than the increase of company .s value (due to inflation rates) what effectively lead to .over consumption. of assets hold.

Abstrakt	W artykule zaprezentowano wartość i strukturę kosztów w grupie przedsiębiorstw rolniczych o różnych formach prawnych i własnościowych w latach 1999-2003. Źródłem poprawy wyników finansowych powinny być ograniczenia kosztów w większym stopniu, niż zwiększanie przychodów. Stwierdzono, że nie udało się ograniczać kosztów w badanym okresie, a jedynie osoby fizyczne dzierżawiące przedsiębiorstwa zmniejszały ich poziom.
Abstract	This article is about costs values and their structure in a group of agricultural enterprises of different legal and capital structures in the years 1999-2003. It has been found out that cost cutting has bigger impact on entities financial results then increase of revenues. Although it was difficult keep costs down the entrepreneurs decreased them over on the studied period.

Abstrakt	W artykule omówiono podstawy prawne i proces przekształceń własnościowych w rolnictwie w Nowych Krajach Związkowych Niemiec. W rezultacie tych procesów powstały nowe formy prawne przedsiębiorstw. W miejsce spółdzielni produkcyjnych i gospodarstw państwowych, które były formą dominującą powstały gospodarstwa rodzinne, spółki cywilne i jednostki z osobowością prawną, takie jak: spółdzielnie rolnicze i spółki z o.o. W wyniku procesów dostosowawczych zwiększył się udział gospodarstw rodzinnych i spółek osobowych w użytkowaniu ziemi, kosztem jednostek z osobowości ą prawną.
Abstract	The paper describes the legal bases and the process of processional transformation in agriculture in New Union Countries of Germany. Those processes result in the changes of the legal forms of enterprises. In the meantime emerged new forms – family farms, civil companies and units with legal personality (i.e. limited companies and cooperatives) and these new forms have substituted predominating forms – productive cooperatives and state farms. Due to those adjustments, during analyzed period, participation in use of land boosts in family farms and personal companies, while in legal entities has fallen off.

Abstrakt	W artykule przeprowadzono analizę bezpieczeństwa finansowego i jego związku z wysokością stóp zwrotu z kapitałów własnych wśród przedsiębiorstw w dzierżawie, jednoosobowych spółek agencji i gospodarstw administrowanych. Stwierdzono, iż występuje bezpośrednia zależność między zachowaniem bezpieczeństwa finansowego, którego wyznacznikami są: płynność finansowa oraz sprawność gospodarowania, w tym cykl kapitału obrotowego, a efektywnością zaangażowania kapitałów własnych. Najkorzystniejsze wielkości wskaźnika bezpieczeństwa finansowego i najwyższej stopy zwrotu z kapitałów własnych cechowały przedsiębiorstwa dzierżawione, najgorsze wskaźniki oraz wyniki były charakterystyczne dla gospodarstw administrowanych.
Abstract	This study presents an analysis of THE financial security and its correlation with ROE rates within leased enterprises, wholly state owned companies and administered enterprises. The study concludes that there is a direct correlation between keeping financial security measured by liquidity and efficiency ratios (including working capital turnover) and ROE. The best financial security and ROE ratios were achieved by the leased companies while the worst ones appeared within administered enterprises.

That significant process is mainly expressed by high rate of wages growth in non-agricultural sectors and increase of agricultural input prices, while there is observed the simultaneous stagnation, even decrease of agricultural produce prices. That facts influence therefore decrease of unit profitability of agricultural production and farm income diminishment. The main and even the only way for the farmers adjustment to the new reality is an increase of economical labor efficiency, which they can achieve through growth of farm size due to leasing of agricultural land.
