Abstract	In Poland, in the sequence of recent years, changes in financing SME activity took place. Entrepreneurs are diverging from internal source of finances more and more by devoting to others forms of raising possessed capital. It is caused by increasing competition which is forcing companies to taking higher risk. A competent choice of the financing source is a substantial problem. It should have a beneficial influence on the profitability in the enterprise, as well as keeping the financial risk at reasonable level. The main direct benefit was a possibility of using structural funds after the accession of Poland into the EU, especially for the SME business sector. The implementation of programs which are co-financed by the EU funds is bringing visible effects more and more.

Abstract	The highest financial liquidity described enterprises with the highest value of possessed capital. In general companies from the group of average value of capital had noticed the financial liquidity on lower level than the enterprises with the lowest and the highest value of capital. The financial liquidity ratio had amounted to quite low level in group of companies with the highest value of fixed assets. In the enterprises with the average level of these assets had appeared the risk of the financial liquidity lack. In group of micro enterprises had recorded difficulties with marinating the financial liquidity, especially the treasury ratio. In researched period had ascertained slight improvement in this aspect. Whereas the financial liquidity level in small and medium enterprises had formed almost on similar level, particularly in quick and treasury ratio. This group of enterprises had recorded lower level of financial liquidity, which in case of smaller scale of production was substantiated, because of decreasing risk of bankruptcy.

However the cost of a bank loan in Poland effectively is still suppressing the investment enthusiasm of entrepreneurs. This cost, from bank point of view, is an outcome of the rigorous evaluation of the credit risk in activity of the small and medium enterprise sector.

Abstract	The paper analyses the financial resources of business activity in SME sector in Świętokrzyskie region. In all groups of enterprises noticed increased value of liabilities, equity and debt capital calculated per employee. I was stated that together with growing number of employees (size of enterprise) recorded significant enhance of capital value per employee. The equity capital was the financial resource which dominance in small and medium enterprises activity, while in micro enterprises – debt capital, especially short-term. In all groups of companies the participation of long term debt capital noticed quite low level. In case of micro enterprises recorded decreasing share of short term loan capital, in relation to long term financing, which value increased in researched period. It confirmed that this source of capital was used in implementations of companies undertakes. To summaries, the micro enterprises require financial support, since their previous capital position was unfavorable in relation to small companies.

Abstract	In the article the relations between opposite approaches to working capital management and chosen financial ratios are defined on the example of stock companies from food processing industry. In the enterprise Kofola S.A. using an aggressive working capital strategy a low level of liquidity, short cycles of current assets’ conversion and negative cycles of cash conversion appeared. Profitability of business and the value of EVA were low in this company. In the enterprise Wilbo S.A. using conservative strategies, high level of liquidity ratios, longer cycles of current assets’ conversion and cash conversion. Conservative strategy of Wilbo S.A. was characterized by negative rates of profitability and negative rate of return for owners built on EVA. Opposite approaches to working capital management do not ensure required rates of return from invested capital for shareholders. That is why the synchronization of partial strategies of the enterprise is very important.

Abstract	The paper deals with the analysis of the relationship between efficiency and effectiveness of SME sector enterprises in respect to size of the employment and fixed assets value. The enterprises were characterized by fixed assets diversity and value of investments outlay. The micro enterprises used possessed fixed assets quite effective. Definitely the lowest participation of long term financing was recorded in enterprises which noticed small value of fixed assets. In enterprises which had the highest value of this assets noted profitable situation in aspect of financial liquidity, whereas the lowest was ascertained in group with an average value of this assets. The fixed assets turnover was higher in enterprises which characterized by the lowest level of fixed assets In these group noticed the highest effectiveness of equity capital utilization. Abstract	The study presents the importance of cash flow in the management of financial enterprise. Cash flow is used for management of liquidity, bankruptcy prediction and credit risk assessment. The ratio analysis in research based on cash flow complements information about the financial situation and regards to cash approach. The traditional indexes calculated on the basis of data from the balance sheet and income statement do not provide complete information about the financial situation of the enterprise. This reflects from financial results which are considered as non-cash transactions, such as depreciation. Cash flow rules emphasized the importance of cash in a free market economy. The enterprise could generate the profit but due to the lack of liquidity it goes bankrupt. It is not mandatory for all enterprises to draw up the cash flow statement. For this reason, the analysis of cash flow is often ignored.

Most of the enterprises noted increasing productive potential as well as development. The research period were characterized by significant increase of equipment and machine participation in assets structure of these enterprises. This is positive trend reflected in profitable tendency increase companies operation potential by fixed assets. The main source of financing the fixed assets was the equity capital. The managers have been guided by the level of cash during a selection of financial resources. The enterprises managers were planning enhancing the level of fixed assets equipment, through equity capital involvement, which is simply safer.

The conducted research showed that there were differences in motivating process between companies in good and in difficult financial situation. Companies with good financial standing were characterized by more diverse, attractive and flexible tools of motivating as well as better adjustment of the tools to the workers’ needs. Showing the strengths and weaknesses of motivating tools in the examined companies, made it possible to identify the key factors having impact on affected on the effectiveness of motivating processes as well as positively influencing financial condition of enterprises.

Badania przeprowadzono w 225 gospodarstwach o zróżnicowanych typach produkcyjnych i wielkości ekonomicznej. Stwierdzono różnice w regionie zależne od wykształcenia kierowników gospodarstw i zróżnicowania przestrzennego.
Abstract	The paper aims to analyze factors determining connections between agricultural enterprises and their environment. The elements of the socio-economical environment were described in light of their influence on farm production and decision making process. The research was conducted on 225 farms characterized by different production type and economic size based on FADN database. Additionally the questionnaire based interviews were conducted. The paper argues that the strength of connections of farms with their environment increase while the education level of farm owners is increasing.

Sformułowano oczekiwania wobec nauk mikroekonomicznych, wskazano dzisiejsze słabości oraz oczekiwania wobec mikroekonomiki rolnictwa. Zwrócono uwagę na potrzebę dostosowania infrastruktury nauki i podejścia naukowego do wymagań wynikających z potrzeby holistycznego postrzegania zjawisk, zachodzących w zwiększającym swój zasięg i złożoność otoczeniu.
Abstract	The paper aims to present the basic problems of microeconomic researches in the area of agribusiness in Poland. It points out the importance of different approaches to microeconomic analysis (reductionism and holism) as well as their effects for quality of identification of socio-economic systems and problems of enterprises functioning. There were formulated general expectations of microeconomic sciences as well as described present bottlenecks and goals of microeconomics of agriculture. Special attention was drawn on the need to adjust the infrastructure and scientific approach to challenges coming out from the need of holistic approach to phenomenon occurring in changing, growing and more complex environment.

Abstrakt
Abstract	Agroecotourism is becoming the most dynamical branch of the world tourist industry. The Republic of Belarus has inexhaustible potential for the development of agroecotourism. It promotes a steady development of rural regions, raises well-being of its inhabitants by attracting investments, creates modern social infrastructure and new work places, contributes to the achievement of social and cultural purposes. Agroecotourism is considered to be an important component of a successful realization of the ‘State Program for the Revival and Development of the Countryside in the Republic of Belarus for 2005-2010’. The problem is that the agrotouristic enterprises have not enough money to increase the scale of realization of basic concepts and models stipulated by the National Program. Maintaining and developing the natural and human potential of Belarus will require making the agroecotourism a profitable branch of the agrarian sector of economy.

Abstrakt	Celem opracowania jest przedstawienie zmian znaczenia zagranicznych odmian roślin na polskim rynku nasiennym. Analizą objęto okres lat 1996-2008. Określono udział odmian zagranicznych w ogólnej liczbie odmian, a także udział tych odmian w powierzchni reprodukcji nasiennej. W analizowanym okresie udział odmian zagranicznych dynamicznie wzrastał z 5% w 1996 r. do 38% w 2008 r. Największe znaczenie miały one w takich gatunkach jak jęczmień ozimy i jary, pszenica ozima i ziemniaki, w których ich udział przekraczał 40%. Największy wzrost konkurencji odmian zagranicznych zaobserwowano po 2004 r., od kiedy możliwe stało się oferowanie w Polsce odmian nie wpisanych do polskiego rejestru odmian, ale wpisanych do Wspólnotowego Katalogu Odmian. Kreacje polskich hodowców zachowały dominującą rolę w takich gatunkach jak pszenżyto, żyto, owies i pszenica jara. Szybko postępujący i duży wzrost udziału odmian zagranicznych może doprowadzić do zapaści w polskiej hodowli, gdyż wielkość sprzedaży nasion jest podstawą do naliczania opłat finansujących prace w przedsiębiorstwach hodowlanych. Jednocześnie musi następować koncentracja hodowli pozwalająca na skonsolidowanie środków na hodowlę i marketing nasion.
Abstract	The paper aims to present how the plant varieties of foreign origin changed their share in the Polish seed market before and after EU accession. Changes in the period 1996-2008 were analyzed. They show that the number of foreign varieties of agricultural species increased significantly. In 1996 the share of foreign varieties was only 5% and it rose rapidly up to 38% in 2008. The foreign varieties play an important role in the Polish seed market, their share exceeding 40% in such species as winter and spring barley, winter wheat and potato. The inflow of foreign varieties was especially high after Poland’s EU accession in 2004, because since then offering CCA varieties in the Polish market have become possible. Polish varieties are still dominant in such species as triticale, rye, oat and spring wheat. The quickly increasing share of foreign varieties in Polish agriculture may cause problems with financing plant breeding activities in Poland because of lowering the amount of license fees. Polish enterprises in the plant breeding sector must concentrate their experimental and marketing activities to cope with the competition from foreign breeders.
