According to the efficiency ratio levels, the leading best banks were located in the western region, according to financial liquidity – in the southern region, and in respect to solvency and capital adequacy – in the central-eastern region respectively. Abstract	The characteristic feature of the recent times is the high rate of change in an economical environment of agricultural enterprises. That significant process is mainly expressed by high rate of wages growth in non-agricultural sectors and increase of agricultural input prices, while there is observed the simultaneous stagnation, even decrease of agricultural produce prices. That facts influence therefore decrease of unit profitability of agricultural production and farm income diminishment. The main and even the only way for the farmers adjustment to the new reality is an increase of economical labor efficiency, which they can achieve through growth of farm size due to leasing of agricultural land. Hence the leasing practices have recently become the main way of farm size development

The best known form of auction is the English auction (bidding). It consists in overbidding other buyers’ offers up to the moment where there is nobody else willing to offer more. The work presents insurance sector results, based on Insurance and Pension Funds Supervisory Commission information, a year after joining European Union. Analysis made in this work proved that gross premium income in 2004 had grown over 11 percent. Despite rather optimistic rates of this sector, we cannot state that Polish insurance market is mature

Abstract	The article presents survey results dedicated to shopping habits of young consuments and their attitude to supermarkets activity in 2003 in Poland. Young consuments aged between 18 and 35 years old have positive attitude to supermarket shopping. They like possibility to buy several articles in just one place. Majority claim that supermarkets had influence on modernization of Polish market. Half of them state that they should be open on Sundays and holidays. As negative aspects of shopping in supermarkets they mention buying many useless articles, spending big amounts of money and consuming time in long waiting lines. Some researched people claimed that large shops affected nearby smaller shops and caused their bankruptcy

Abstract	In the paper the analysis of the dependence between an amount of working capital (WC) for the unit of net profit (NP) and financial standing of agricultural enterprises is presented. The lowest level of this relationship did not guarantee a stable level of profitability of property, own capital and land use. Too high level of that relationship contributed to the increase of efficiency in this scope, but on the level lower than in enterprises with average relationship WC/NP. Only in enterprises with the highest relationship WC/NP maintenance of quick and current liquidity ratio was stated. Enterprises of the lowest relationship WC/NP were endangered with loss of financial liquidity and were characterized with the highest debt. The vindication of dues was the most efficient in enterprises with the highest relationship WC/NP. The working capital is fundamental source of the current activity financing, while too high level of it could be inefficient. Therefore it is a necessity of search its optimum in relationship to the profit, what transfers to the efficiency of use of land, labour and capital.

Abstract	In the paper the analysis of changes in the structure of an economic activity of rural population, with division into agricultural rural population and rural people without land was presented. Changes in the age structure and education structure of rural population as one of factors differentiating economic activity were also analyzed. Increasing tendency in the share of village people without land and in the share of economically inactive population was observed. Landless population dominated in the structure of old aged people while in the group of agricultural rural population youngest people dominated. An increase of better educated people in the structure of rural population was stated. However the worst educated people dominate, particularly within agricultural population. Differences in professional activity between agricultural and landless rural people should be considered in creating agricultural politics towards rural areas, with differentiation applied instruments and direction of administrating financial support

Abstrakt	W artykule omówiono podstawy prawne i proces przekształceń własnościowych w rolnictwie w Nowych Krajach Związkowych Niemiec. W rezultacie tych procesów powstały nowe formy prawne przedsiębiorstw. W miejsce spółdzielni produkcyjnych i gospodarstw państwowych, które były formą dominującą powstały gospodarstwa rodzinne, spółki cywilne i jednostki z osobowością prawną, takie jak: spółdzielnie rolnicze i spółki z o.o. W wyniku procesów dostosowawczych zwiększył się udział gospodarstw rodzinnych i spółek osobowych w użytkowaniu ziemi, kosztem jednostek z osobowości ą prawną.
Abstract	The paper describes the legal bases and the process of processional transformation in agriculture in New Union Countries of Germany. Those processes result in the changes of the legal forms of enterprises. In the meantime emerged new forms – family farms, civil companies and units with legal personality (i.e. limited companies and cooperatives) and these new forms have substituted predominating forms – productive cooperatives and state farms. Due to those adjustments, during analyzed period, participation in use of land boosts in family farms and personal companies, while in legal entities has fallen off.

Abstrakt	W artykule przedstawiono stan obecny i perspektywy przetwórstwa oraz handlu i spożycia mleka i produktów mlecznych. W latach 2003-2005 polskie mleczarstwo rozwijało się dynamicznie, postępowały przemiany strukturalne w przetwórstwie i handlu, nastąpił skokowy wzrost eksportu, zwłaszcza do UE, kontynuowany był spadkowy trend spożycia mleka i przetworów. W przyszłości należy spodziewać się stagnacji przerobu na poziomie ustalonym przez kwotę mleczną, kontynuacji przemian strukturalnych, ograniczania eksportu na rzecz stopniowo rosnącego popytu krajowego i w konsekwencji stopniowego zrównywania się wielkości importu z eksportem, być może nawet Polska stanie się importerem netto. Wyrównujące się ceny surowca w poszerzonej UE oraz niska wydajność pracy wskazują na potrzebę redukcji przerostów zatrudnienia w celu utrzymania konkurencyjności polskiego mleczarstwa.
Abstract	The paper presents the current state and prospects of a dairy processing, trade and milk consumption in Poland. In the period 2003-2005 there were observed following features: fast growth of Polish dairy sector, structural changes in dairy processing and trade, soar of export and decline of consumption. In the future there could be predicted stagnation of the scope of milk processed, further structural changes, decline of export according to the gradual increase of domestic demand. Polish dairy competitive advantage based on cheap raw milk is gradually going away. Law labour efficiency suggests, that labour reduction is needed for the industry to be still competitive in the future.

Abstrakt	W opracowaniu przedstawiono możliwości i ekonomiczne uzasadnienie rozwoju gospodarstw ukierunkowanych na chów bydła mlecznego, sprzedających rocznie 28 tysięcy litrów mleka z gospodarstwa. Przyjęty poziom sprzedaży był zbliżony do przeciętnych dostaw mleka z polskich gospodarstw do zakładów mleczarskich w roku kwotowym 2004/2005. Z dokonanej analizy wynika, że produkcja mleka na tym poziomie przynosiła tylko minimalne dochody. Uwzględniając dodatkowo koszty zaangażowania własnych czynników produkcji (ziemi, pracy, kapitału) okazuje się, że analizowana działalność wiązała się z wysoką stratą. Inwestycje pozwalające na zwiększenie skali produkcji, finansowane kredytem preferencyjnym, prowadzą do zachwiania płynności finansowej. Analizowane gospodarstwa mają niewielkie szanse rozwoju w chowie bydła mlecznego. Muszą szukać dochodów poza gospodarstwem.
Abstract	In the article there were presented possibilities and economical explanations for development of the dairy directed farms, delivering yearly 28 thousands liters of milk. Mentioned milk sales level per farm represents average farm deliveries to the dairy purchasers within the milk quota year 2004/2005. Basing on the results it may be concluded that milk production at the abovementioned level is slightly profitable. Taking into consideration additionally costs of the owned production factors (land, capital and labour) it occurs that this production scale generates large looses. Investments in an increase of the production scale, financed by the preferential credits, lead to fluency problems. Therefore it may be predicted that those farms doesn’t have much chances for development in direction of milk production. Hence they must rather search for an additional income outside the farm.

Abstrakt	W pracy przedstawiono zmiany w strukturze towarowej produkcji rolniczej, w tym produkcji zwierzęcej, zmiany w pogłowiu krów mlecznych, w poziomie produkcji mleka i w skupie. Stwierdzono znaczny spadek pogłowia krów w latach 1990-2005 aż o 43,2%, spadek produkcji mleka o 24,5%, przy jednoczesnym wzroście wydajności mlecznej krów o 33%. Stwierdzono także znaczne zróżnicowanie terytorialne pogłowia krów i produkcji mleka. Ponad 50% produkcji mleka skoncentrowane jest w czterech województwach: podlaskim, mazowieckim, wielkopolskim i łódzkim.
Abstract	The paper presents a change at market production in agriculture, including animal production, changes in herd size , level of the milk production and sales. Considerable decrease of herd size in 1990 . 2005, about 43,2% has been recorded, however decrease of milk production was 24,5% and simultaneous growth of milk yield about 33%. Considerable territorial disparity herd size and the milk production, has been observed i meanwhile. Over 50% milk production is concentrate in four provinces: podlaskie, mazowieckie, wielkopolskie, lodzkie.

Abstrakt
Abstract	Food safety and quality are main issues in food economics. The first part of this paper deals with food quality in Poland before and after the process of integration with the EU. The conducted analysis have confirmed the improvement of Polish food quality. The sanitary conditions of Polish processing plants have also improved. But the concentration of nitrates is still very high in some vegetable products. The second part contains an analysis of the Polish exports and imports and their changes in the economic transition process. Wheat imports were higher than exports. In addition to this, the survey proved that Poland is self-sufficient in food production and food safety has improved in the transition period
